I here till tomorrow, in a long business meeting, very long one. I haven't had time to see anything in the city yet, and now it looks like I won't be able too either, when the meeting ends tomorrow I have 2 hours then go to the airport ugggg!

Do JWs wear veils?

someone told me yesterday that she had studied with witnesses "up to chapter 3"...whatever that means.. she said that a man and woman came to her house one day after she had been studying and that the woman put on a head covering or veil when they started the study.

she asked the woman why she did that and the woman replied they do that when in presence of a brother.. i think she must have got jws mixed up with some other group...i just never heard of the veil thing before.. is this a jw practice?.

Catholic women often use a headcoving, not just because they are with a "brother" but only inside church as an outward sign of reverence to god, not to any earthly man, and is only worn inside the church.

MY DAD WANTS TO STUDY WITH THE KIDS

i am in good standing (of sorts) with the wts.

i have not gone out in service for 10 years - i have not been to a meeting in about 2 years - i skipped last years memorial.

my dad is a pioneer and elder.

I don't have kids yet, wife and I are working on that, but that's a whole other story, anyway I told her that when we have kids, I want it written in my will that my kids will not end up with my JW family if something were to ever happen to me, and I would never allow my kids to step foot into kingdump hall. Now I know some might say that let them make up their own minds Fu*k that I know what I went through I'm not putting my kids through that. Wife and I already decided our kids will be raised Catholic, and my JW family will keep their mits off them.

1942 Consolation series "Japan Inspired of the Devil"

recently i obtained some issues of consolation for the year 1942 (predecessor for todays awake!

) through an online auction.

one of the first articles to catch my attention was a 4 part series of articles on japan, written just after the pearl harbor attack in december 1941. they begin with the february 18, 1942 issue.
